League Suspends Ingels and Sarria for Brawl Monday, August 19th , 2030 Yesterday at NBT Bank Stadium Mike Ingels and Leo Sarria got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Syracuse Mets and Somerset Patriots. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Ingels will have to sit out 4 while Sarria would be given a 8-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. For the year Ingels has hit .268 with 1 home run, 31 RBIs and scored 30 runs. |
