Gilpin Stretches Hit String to 20 Saturday, July 27th , 2030 The hot bat of Grasshoppers left fielder Mike Gilpin continues to churn out hit after hit, game after game. His consecutive-game hitting streak now numbers 20 games after he went 1-for-2 in today's 3-2 loss to the Farmhands at First National Bank Field. "I'm trying not to think about it much," he said later. "I don't want to mess with whatever zone I'm in." Mike Gilpin struck out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a sac fly in the 7th and walked in the 9th. Thus far in 2030 Gilpin is hitting .405 with 2 home runs, 16 RBIs, 12 runs scored and has compiled a .526 OBP. |
