Baker Grabs GCL Reliever of the Year

He may only be 23, but Jake Baker of the Minnesota (GCL) Twins has already established himself as one of the elite relievers in the Gulf Coast Rookie League.

The reliever was today named the GCL Reliever of the Year winner for 2029.

He won the award with a strong year that saw him put up 1 save in 19 relief appearances and 28 strikeouts in 25.2 innings. He had a record of 3-0 to go with his 1.75 ERA.

He received 16 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Jake Camilleri of the Miami (GCL) Marlins finished second in voting, while Ken Scholz of the Boston (GCL) Red Sox finished third.
