Merz Strokes 5 Hits Saturday, August 10th , 2030 Josh Merz had an answer for everything the Tampa Bay (GCL) Rays threw at him today at TD Ballpark. The Toronto (GCL) second baseman went 5-for-5 in the game to put his name in the record book and put the Blue Jays on top, 3-2. Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, Merz said, "I just see the ball and I hit it." Josh Merz singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Hitting .324 to date, Merz has no home runs and 4 RBIs. He has played in 18 games.
