Blue Jays CF Hummell Gets the Cycle Monday, August 26th , 2030 In an outing that will go down in the annals of baseball history, Toronto (GCL) center fielder Jimmy Hummell hit for the cycle today as the Blue Jays marched to victory over the New York A (GCL) Yankees, 18-7. Hummell collected 4 hits in 6 at-bats, including 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run. He added 6 RBI and 4 runs scored to help Toronto (GCL) take the TD Ballpark contest. "It was the last thing on my mind, really," Hummell said. "I'm out there trying to get a blooper or a walk or whatever might help the team. Even if I had wanted to, hitting for the cycle is probably as much about luck as about skill anyway." Jimmy Hummell tripled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Danny Ramos in the 6th, hit a three-run double in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
