Playoff Bound: Pirates Win Wild Card Thursday, September 19th , 2030 For the Pittsburgh (GCL) Pirates, it's not how you start, but how you finish. That's the mantra the team is following after today qualifying for the playoffs. "We may be going into the playoffs as a wild card team, but we plan to finish the playoffs as champions," said right fielder Chad Martin. "There's no shortage of confidence from guys in our clubhouse." With a record of 32-23, there will of course be teams with better track records in the postseason. But the team's manager said his club has "infinite optimism" that they can win the franchise's 1st Gulf Coast Rookie League championship. |
