The Clearwater Threshers took Winston-Salem pitcher Tristan McClelland's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Bright House Field. The final score had Clearwater getting past the Dash, 6-3. McClelland went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 4. The Threshers now own a record of 81-54.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Jeremy Miller came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Winston-Salem pitcher Jason Veatch, he hit a 1-1 knuckle curve for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Clearwater on top, 4-3.

Miller said his team "played with focus."
