Fresno and Santa Cruz got after it at Joker Marchant Stadium.

The Fresno Tacos beat the Santa Cruz Seaweed, 9-3. Fresno pitcher and Turmero, Venezuela, native Orlando Salazar led the way. The save went to Hector Lopez, his 1st this season.

Shane Meekins had a big 2-run double for the Tacos in the top of the second inning. With Fresno leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a curveball from Bobby Nosal and swatted a double to center. It was his 29th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Tacos ahead, 4-0.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Meekins.

Fresno leads the Plains Conference West by 12½ games.
