Young Lifts Otters to 9-6 Win
A good performance from designated hitter Matt Young helped the Evansville Otters defeat the Cleburne Railroaders, 9-6. Young went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Otters. Rick Rardin was the winner. Over 5 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts. Ismael Aldaco got the save, his 2nd in 2 chances.

Evansville used a well-timed hit by Andre van den Broek to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Otters ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Young said.

With the win, the Otters improved to 50-58.
