Railroaders Tear Continues with 7-1 Triumph
|
The Cleburne Railroaders topped the Evansville Otters, 7-1, in Plains Conference action at Baseball City Complex. The game was highlighted by the performance of Cleburne pitcher Keith LaMoure Jr.. In 6 innings, LaMoure Jr. surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 11 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Tim Lees, credited with the save, is now 3 for 3 in save opportunities.
D.J. Grabowski had a big run-scoring triple for the Railroaders in the bottom of the third inning. With Cleburne leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Shane Voyer and swatted a triple to right. It was his 18th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Railroaders ahead, 2-0.
"Keith did exactly what you're supposed to, pounding the zone," said Cleburne manager Charles Villani.
Cleburne has now won 18 games in a row.
