Slumping Bacon Lose Again
|
The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Joliet fans at Baseball City Complex.
Joliet turned a fine outing from starter Sergio Rios into a victory over the Macon Bacon at Baseball City Complex. The final score was 7-2. Rios picked up the win for Joliet, going 5 innings. He gave up no runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 6-1.
The Slammers got a big at-bat from catcher Ethan Riley. For the game, Riley was 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Joliet a 2-0 lead.
"I know everybody in here is putting in the work," said Macon manager Jamie McDonald. "It's just not paying off."
The victory gives Joliet a record of 89-24.
