Vermont Stumbles Again, Falls, 4-1, to Aberdeen
|
Dave Lanham was instrumental in his team's 4-1 triumph over the Vermont Lake Monsters. The right fielder went 2 for 3 with a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Aberdeen Ironbirds. Jake Hornstein earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 3.2 innings. He upped his record to 2-0. Picking up the save was Edwin Tenorio, his 4th.
Aberdeen grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Lanham, who is tied for 2nd in the NYP in triples with 3, hit a 2-run double. His 6th double of the season put the Ironbirds out in front, 2-0.
"We're in a funk right now," said Vermont skipper Joe DeVoe.
Vermont now has a 8-game losing streak.
