Mud Hens Top Chiefs, 6-2
|
The Toledo Mud Hens topped the Syracuse Chiefs, 6-2, with youngster Tom Keating playing a key role. Keating was 4 for 4 with 4 singles for the Mud Hens in the win. The win gives Toledo a record of 1-1.
The Mud Hens got a big hit from third baseman Dustin Johnson. In the bottom of the fifth, Johnson pounded a grand slam home run to left. His 1st home run of the season put the Mud Hens ahead, 5-1.
"Good to get a win," said Keating, "but it's a long season."
