Rock Cats Edge Aberdeen in Pitching Duel
|
The New Britain Rock Cats got a magnificent effort from pitcher Alex Saenz, who kept Aberdeen hitters in check en route to a 1-0 Rock Cats win at Ripken Stadium. Saenz, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing no runs. New Britain now sits in third place in the New York-Penn Conference East Division at 44-40.
Josh Henderson played a key role in the win for the Rock Cats. The third baseman punched a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning. For the game, Henderson went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Saenz.
