Short Slugs Rattlers to 7-5 Win
|
Brad Short was a vital contributor to the 7-5 Dakota victory over New Jersey. The Rattlers right fielder went 3 for 3 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. The win puts Dakota at 19-18 this season.
Short contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Dakota in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Short took a changeup from Billy Adams and stroked the home run to left-center. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Rattlers to leap in front, 2-1.
"It's not about individual awards," Short told a Dakota Gazette reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."
