Behind a fine performance from Mario Peña, the Houston Hurricane knocked off the Dakota Rattlers, 7-5. Peña went 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Hurricane. Tony Martínez earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record is now 1-0. Artie Gunter earned his 9th save in 11 chances.

The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Peña delivered big-time for Houston, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Kip Lee. The game-changing hit put the Hurricane on top, 7-5.
