Gators Lose to Anasazi in Walk Off
|
A 3-RBI performance from José Pérez, who finished 2nd in the FL in hits with 217 in 2049, helped the Colorado Anasazi beat the New Orleans Gators, 5-3. Bob Hinson, now 8-5, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. The triumph puts Colorado at 43-42 for the season.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Pérez hit a sinker from Juan Garza for a 2-run home run. The Anasazi, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Pérez.
