Four-bagger Feast: Avison Slugs 3 for Mid-Iowa Thursday, May 11th , 2051 Jerry Avison went yard three times in a Mid-Iowa Black Wolves victory over the Kenner Gators at Kenner Municipal Stadium today. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Mid-Iowa shortstop went 3-for-6 against Kenner with 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Black Wolves to the 17-9 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Jerry Avison hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, struck out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 8th and flied out in the 9th. Avison is currently batting .281 with 5 home runs and 13 RBIs. |
