Jenkins Has 20-Game Hitting Streak Wednesday, June 21st , 2051 The streak is alive and well -- at least for today. Greg Jenkins did it again, bashing 1 hit in the contest at El Paso Park today. For the last 20 games in a row, the 24-year-old first baseman has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Kenner Gators beat the El Paso Suns 12-6 today. "I'm happy I kept the streak going," Jenkins told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Kenner clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Greg Jenkins struck out in the 1st, walked in the 4th, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and flied out in the 8th. For the year Jenkins is batting .349 with 16 home runs, 46 RBIs and 52 runs scored. |
