Yoshihisa Baba Rockets 3 Home Runs
Saturday, August 30th , 2053
Yoshihisa Baba brutalized the Glenwood Springs Hollidays pitching staff, launching three home runs in the 13-11 Jefferson City victory at Moffat Field. The Jefferson City Capitols shortstop was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day.
"I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one."
For the game, he went 3-for-7 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Too much Yoshihisa Baba today," Hollidays manager said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to."
Yoshihisa Baba hit a solo-shot off Tim Ellison in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off José Téllez in the 5th, struck out in the 8th, struck out in the 10th, flied out in the 12th and hit a two-run home run off Theron Smith in the 14th.
This season, Baba has 9 home runs and a .242 batting average.
