3-HR Game for Rodríguez
Thursday, August 25th , 2050
Héctor Rodríguez of the Flamingos went on a hitting spree at Lowriders Stadium today and earned membership in the select club of hitters who have hit three home runs in a game. He blasted three into the stands in a 15-12 loss to the Carson Terriers.
"I'm not happy with the outcome of the game, but it was still a great game for me," Rodríguez said in the clubhouse following the loss. "I have been making solid contact lately, but not getting any lift. Today I got it up in the air and out of the ballpark. I had my home run swing down pat. Got some good pitches to hit, too."
The St. Petersburg shortstop did indeed have quite a game, collecting 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 5 RBIs and scoring 3 runs.
Héctor Rodríguez hit a two-run home run off Edmund Mitchell in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Edmund Mitchell in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Jake Greer in the 5th, walked in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
This season Rodríguez has hit at a .161 clip and produced 15 RBI, 5 home runs and 23 runs.
