Diamondbacks Post 5-1 Win Over San Francisco
|
Arizona starter Hunter Coleman put a stranglehold on the San Francisco offense. The right-hander had complete command of his changeup in leading the Diamondbacks to a 5-1 win. Coleman picked up the win for Arizona, going 8.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-2. Don Davis, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 9th save.
Arizona relied on the bat of Pat Phillips to get the win. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Diamondbacks ahead, 4-0. For the game, Phillips had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Phillips told the Arizona Times.
With the loss, San Francisco falls to 14-14.
