Royals Paste 12-5 Loss on Rangers
|
With second baseman Dan Heller leading the charge, the Kansas City Royals defeated the Texas Rangers, 12-5, at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Heller, who finished 5th in the AL in hits with 189 in 2068, went 4 for 6 with a triple and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. With the win, Kansas City improves its record to 14-16.
The Royals got a big hit from center fielder Neal Martin. In the top of the sixth, Martin pounded a bases-clearing double to right. His 7th double of the season put the Royals ahead, 11-2.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Kansas City manager Tim Ervin.
