Braves Shut Out Twins, 2-0
|
The Atlanta Braves topped the Minnesota Twins by the score of 2-0, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Tyrone Evans. Evans went 3-3 with a double and 2 singles for the Braves on the day. Atlanta reliever Ramón Cantú picked up the win to move to 1-0. Rob Sarmie suffered the loss. Juan Aguilar got credit for the save for Atlanta. It was his 5th of the year.
In the bottom of the second, Atlanta catcher José Ríos had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out, Ríos stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 2-0, Atlanta. For the game, he went 1-3. He drove in 2 runs.
"Enjoyed this one," Ríos told the Atlanta Herald. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
Atlanta, with the win, climbs to 9-29.
