The San Francisco Giants and Pittsburgh Pirates obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.

Rafael Pérez was a major factor in the 7-6 San Francisco win over Pittsburgh. The Giants first baseman went 4-4 with a home run, 3 doubles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. San Francisco reliever Ryan Roberge picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Bill Day took the loss. Juan Carlos Muñóz recorded the save for San Francisco, his 12th of the season.

Jason Rollins aided the San Francisco cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the third baseman was 1 for 2 with a walk.

"We played hard and won," said Pérez. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'

This loss makes it 6 in a row for Pittsburgh.
