Bookman 5-for-5 Against New York
Even as a kid, Tony Bookman said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Fenway Park today, Bookman showed how well he learned that lesson.

The 26-year-old right fielder had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Boston Red Sox, helping his team knock off the New York Yankees by a score of 12-11.

"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today."

Tony Bookman singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Joseph Jones in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off John Patterson in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 8th and walked in the 11th.

Bookman is swinging at a .233 pace on the year with 11 home runs, 44 RBIs and 47 runs scored. He has played in 107 games.
