Reds Reel Off Another Win
|
The Cincinnati Reds handed the Washington Nationals a loss at Great American Ball Park. The final score was 5-2. Rubén Reyes was one of the major contributors for Cincinnati. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 4. Cincinnati reliever Iván García picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Charlie Linttell shouldered the loss. Ernesto Zavala locked down his 5th save.
Cincinnati grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Reyes, who led the NL in slugging percentage with .619 last year, hit a 3-run home run. His 15th home run of the season put the Reds out in front, 5-2.
"We're playing like gangbusters right now," said Reyes.
The wins continue to add up for Cincinnati, with the latest making it 10 in a row.
