Warhounds Top Braves in Extras, 7-3
|
Atlanta got a big-time effort from pitcher Pablo Cordero, but it wasn't enough to keep the Carolina Warhounds from winning the game, 7-3. Cordero threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Carolina's record now stands at 25-28, placing them second in the National League Southern Division.
The outcome might have been different for Carolina, had it not been for Leonardo Canseco, the 27-year old catcher . Canseco stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 13th inning to put Carolina up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We did a lot of things right," said Canseco.
