Reds Trip Royals, 3-2, in Extra Innings
|
The Cincinnati Reds wiggled past the Kansas City Royals, 3-2, at Kauffman Stadium. The win was highlighted by the performance of Cincinnati pitcher Ricky Bray. Cincinnati reliever Iván García was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Donald McDaniel took the loss. With the win over Kansas City, the Reds improved to 33-22.
Runs were few and far between in this one. So, Greg McIntosh's at-bat with one out in the top of the tenth was crucial. The Cincinnati left fielder reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"Our team showed some resilience," said McIntosh.
