Giants Lose to Yankees in Walk Off
|
There was no shortage of dramatics at New Yankee Stadium.
New York right-hander Artie McClure helped his team edge San Francisco by the score of 3-2. McClure kept the opposing lineup in check. New York reliever Guillermo Rodríguez picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. Ángel Ramírez was saddled with the loss.
Dave Welch was the walk-off hero for New York. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Yankees left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
In postgame comments, McClure told the New York Chronicle: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
