Cardinals Score Late to Upend Dodgers, 6-3
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers got a superb performance from pitcher Felipe Guerrero. Still, it wasn't enough to beat St. Louis. The Cardinals won the game, 6-3. Guerrero threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Eitoku Kishita got the save, the 14th for him this season. The win hiked the St. Louis record to 32-29.
St. Louis took a 6-3 lead on Ric Hodges's 1st triple of the season. The bases-clearing triple, which Hodges hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Los Angeles pitcher Bo Miller visibly frustrated.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Hodges told the St. Louis Bulletin.
