Royals Turn Back Carolina, 6-4
|
Kansas City center fielder Neal Martin helped his team beat the Carolina Warhounds, 6-4. Martin, who led the AL in doubles with 44 in 2067, went 3 for 4 for the Royals. Ronald Coleman earned the win for Kansas City. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 4 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 6-1. Thomas García closed the game out for Kansas City, earning his 15th save.
David Harris, the former first round draft pick , had a direct impact on the outcome. Harris contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put Kansas City up, 3-0.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Kansas City manager Tim Ervin.
