Big Day for Knight as Pirates Down Nationals, 7-3
|
A 4-RBI performance from Spencer Knight, the 3rd overall pick in the 2065 draft, helped the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Washington Nationals, 7-3. Curt Williams earned the save for Pittsburgh, his 21st of the year. With the victory, the Pirates upped their record to 45-33.
Knight had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 0-2 screwball from Charlie Linttell, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Pirates a 5-3 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Knight.
Knight attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
