Rockies Prevail, 4-2, Over Cincinnati
|
Colorado picked up a win at Great American Ball Park, bumping off the Cincinnati Reds, 4-2. Pitcher José Franco was a major reason the Rockies emerged victorious. Franco, now 8-4, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. Cooper Dubarry collected his 27th save.
Patrick Hammond, the fan favorite , had a direct impact on the outcome. Hammond contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Colorado up, 2-1.
"I liked his command," said Colorado manager Benjamin Spiro. "José was throwing strikes."
Colorado has won 4 straight games.
