Great Effort by Richards Wasted in 6-2 Dodgers Loss
|
Despite a fine performance by left fielder Bradley Richards, the Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Houston Astros, 6-2. Richards went 4 for 4 with 2 home runs and 2 doubles. Ed Meyer got the win, improving to 6-1. He worked 7 innings, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. The second-place Astros have won 6 straight games.
Houston used the bat of Tony Barrosa to get the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Astros ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Houston manager Shane Callahan.
