Twins Come Up Short at Boston, 2-1
The Boston Red Sox eked out a 2-1 win versus the Minnesota Twins at Fenway Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Paul Martin. He was terrific. Robert Wilcox notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record now sits at 2-2. Boston has a record of 41-61, placing them last in the American League Eastern Division.

José García, who led the AL in wins above replacement with 6.7 in 2062, contributed to the Boston win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
