Floundering Giants Lose 6th Straight
|
San Francisco got a valiant performance from pitcher Hideki Nakashima, but it wasn't enough to beat the Atlanta Braves. Atlanta won the game, 6-5. Nakashima threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. The slumping Giants have dropped 6 in a row.
Wayne Bennett Jr. aided the Atlanta cause with a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Atlanta manager Justin Buzzotta.
