Giants Squelch Braves Offense in Shutout Win
San Francisco picked up a win at Presidio Park, bumping off the Atlanta Braves, 5-0. Pitcher Travis White was a major reason the Giants emerged victorious. San Francisco reliever Travis White got the win, raising his record to 6-5. Ramón Cantú was tagged with the loss. The Giants saw their win-loss record go to 53-50. At the same time, the Braves fell to 28-75.

The game could have flipped with one out in the top of the fourth. But Travis White made what his manager later called "an A-plus pitch." With runners on 1st and 2nd and Atlanta trailing 2-0, White threw a fastball to Ray Boyer and Boyer struck out.
