St. Louis Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
Oakland pitcher Clinton HOl gave the Cardinals all they could handle, but in the end, St. Louis left Busch Stadium with a win, 2-1. HOl allowed 1 run on 2 hits over 7.2 innings. Carlos Miranda earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 5-3. St. Louis now owns a record of 61-47.
Víctor Becerra was the walk-off hero for St. Louis. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cardinals right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"This place was electric at the end," Becerra said.
