Diamondbacks Take Down Reds, 5-4
|
Roshar Field was host to some action-packed drama.
The Arizona Diamondbacks had to overcome a fine effort from Cincinnati pitcher Ichizo Ine to grab a narrow 5-4 win at Roshar Field. Ine went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Arizona reliever Manny Nieto picked up the win to move to 5-2. Nick Thomas suffered the loss.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Arizona designated hitter Pat Phillips, facing Nick Thomas, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Diamondbacks the 5-4 win.
"Good team win," Phillips said. "I love it when a plan comes together."
With the win, the Diamondbacks have a record of 64-47.
