Cardinals Rally to Eke Out Win
The San Francisco Giants got a superb performance from pitcher Hideki Nakashima, but the St. Louis Cardinals still won the game, 5-4. Nakashima threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The winner was Carlos Miranda in relief. His record improves to 6-3. Juan Carlos Muñóz took the loss. The winning continues for St. Louis, with the latest making it 7 straight.

Emiliano Girometta, the two-time All-Star , had a direct impact on the outcome. Girometta contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the tenth inning to put St. Louis up, 5-4.

"This is a resilient bunch," said St. Louis manager Ron Harrison.
