Tigers Bridle Angels, 4-3
|
Nathan Rose pitched well, but the Los Angeles Angels still lost the game, falling 4-3 to the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park. Detroit reliever Juan Ríos was the winner. His record is now 3-0. Nathan Rose took the loss. The Tigers lead the American League Central Division by 7 games.
The Tigers got a big at-bat from third baseman David Fisher. For the game, Fisher went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 25th home run of the season gave Detroit a 4-3 lead.
"Bottom line," said Los Angeles skipper Mark Blakemore, "we didn't play well enough to win."
