The Rangers grabbed a win, 5-3, at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, overcoming a fine effort from Kansas City pitcher Tokutomi Nakayama. Nakayama went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Texas pitcher A.J Klein got the win. He's now 3-2. Zach Woods was tagged with the loss. Texas leads the American League Southern Division by 12 games.

Had Claudio Valenzuela not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Valenzuela hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Rangers.

"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Valenzuela told the Texas Today.
