Indians Drop Twins, 5-3, with Late Score
|
Minnesota got a terrific game from first baseman Geoffrey Foster. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Cleveland, 5-3. Foster went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Cleveland reliever Bryan Booth picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Dave House shouldered the loss. The Twins, at 69-50, have lost 4 in a row.
Cleveland took a 4-2 lead on Vince Smith's 6th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Smith hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Minnesota pitcher Dave House visibly frustrated.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Smith told the Cleveland Daily.
