Pirates Hand Warhounds 6-1 Loss
The Pittsburgh Pirates picked up a win at War Hounds Ballpark, knocking off the Carolina Warhounds, 6-1. Starting pitcher Gerardo Piñeiro was a big reason why. Pittsburgh is now 68-54, 6½ games up in the National League Eastern Division.

Pittsburgh used a clutch hit from George Alexander to get the win. The third baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Pirates ahead, 4-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It's a good day to be a fan after a win like that," Alexander told the Pittsburgh Daily.
