Rangers Come Back Late to Clip Yankees
The Texas Rangers topped the New York Yankees, 5-4, in American League action at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. The game was highlighted by the performance of Texas pitcher Arturo Guerrero. Texas reliever Jim Dawson got the win, raising his record to 2-2. Harley Waltenbery was tagged with the loss. Getting the save was A.J Klein, his 34th.

The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Jack Torres came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing New York pitcher Dave Moser, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Texas on top, 5-4.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said New York manager Mac Mckenzie.

The Rangers now have a record of 84-38 with the win over New York.
