Twins Improve to 73-52 with 6-3 Win
|
The San Francisco Giants got a superb performance from center fielder Rex Tolmie, but the Minnesota Twins still won the game, 6-3. Tolmie went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Minnesota reliever Dave House picked up the win, raising his record to 2-1. Raúl Santana was tagged with the loss. The win elevated the Twins to 73-52.
Jamal Cervantes drew 2 walk for Minnesota. The three-time Most Valuable Player winner had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Raúl Santana. It was his 51st walk of the season.
"Enjoyed this one," Cervantes told the Minnesota Bulletin. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
