The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Carolina fans at War Hounds Ballpark.
Behind the hitting of Christian Snow, the Carolina Warhounds clipped the Boston Red Sox, 5-4. Snow went 4-4 with a triple and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Warhounds. The winning pitcher was Blake Stewart. He's now 11-9. He went 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits for the Warhounds.
Snow contributed a big hit, a 2-run triple, for Carolina in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Snow took a fastball from Kelvin Doyle and stroked the triple to left-center. His 10th triple of the season allowed the Warhounds to leap in front, 2-1.
"It was a good effort all around," said Snow.
Today's win puts Carolina at 60-68, while Boston falls to 55-73.
