Rangers Rally to Eke Out Win
|
Texas beat San Francisco at Presidio Park, escaping with a 3-2 win. The win in large part was due to first baseman Noburo Oike. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner in relief was Tyler Long. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 4-1. The third-place Giants have lost 4 consecutive games.
The game was all tied up in the top of the 12th, until Oike delivered big-time for Texas, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Ángel Ramírez. The game-changing hit put the Rangers on top, 3-2.
"Our team showed some gumption," said Oike. "I like it."
