Red Sox Bridle Astros, 3-1
|
The Boston Red Sox got a magnificent performance from pitcher Robby Dix, who muffled the Houston offense en route to a tight 3-1 Red Sox win at Fenway Park. The last-place Red Sox now have a win-loss record of 56-75.
With no one out in the bottom of the fourth, César Parra put Boston in front, 2-1, with a run-scoring single. The Red Sox went on to win the ballgame.
"Every loss hurts," said Houston manager Shane Callahan. "But this was a tough one."
